1. Introduction
BrandBoost Co Inc. ("BrandBoost Co," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website brandboostco.pro (the "Site") and provides brand systems, identity and positioning consulting services. This privacy policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have over it.
We are a British Columbia, Canada-registered company and this policy is written to meet our obligations under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA") and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act ("PIPA"). If you are located outside Canada, using our Site or services means your information may be processed in Canada under Canadian law.
2. What information we collect
We collect information in three broad ways: information you give us directly, information collected automatically as you browse the Site, and information we receive from third parties in the course of a client engagement.
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Contact details: full name, email address, phone number, company name, and job title, when you submit the contact form, book a brand session, or otherwise email us.
- Enquiry content: the details you type into the message field describing your brand, project or question.
- Engagement information: for confirmed clients, additional business information required to deliver a positioning study, brand voice guide, visual mark system or governance retainer — for example, existing brand assets, internal documents shared for review, and billing contact details.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited, collected through standard server logs and, where you consent, analytics cookies.
- Cookie data: small text files stored on your device to remember preferences and measure Site usage. See our cookie policy for full detail on categories, duration and your controls.
2.3 Information from third parties
Occasionally we receive limited information about a prospective client from a referral partner, or from publicly available business sources (such as a company website) as part of preparing for a brand session. We treat this the same way we treat information you give us directly.
3. Why we collect and use this information
We collect and use personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, including to:
- respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form and schedule brand sessions;
- prepare proposals, quotes and engagement agreements for brand systems work;
- deliver contracted services — positioning studies, verbal identity guides, visual mark systems, research sprints, content direction, touchpoint mapping and governance retainers;
- send administrative communications related to an active engagement, such as invoices, scheduling, and project updates;
- maintain the security, integrity and performance of the Site;
- understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the Site so we can improve its content and structure; and
- comply with legal, accounting and tax obligations under Canadian and British Columbia law.
We do not use personal information collected through this Site to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
4. Consent
By submitting the contact form, you provide express consent to our collection and use of the information you supply for the purpose of responding to your enquiry, as described in this policy. Where our contact form includes a consent checkbox referencing PIPEDA, that checkbox is not pre-selected — you must actively check it to submit the form. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting our Privacy Officer using the details in Section 12.
Consent for non-essential cookies is managed separately through the cookie banner described in our cookie policy, and can be changed at any time from that page.
5. Legal basis under PIPEDA and BC PIPA
Both PIPEDA and BC PIPA require that personal information be collected, used and disclosed only for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate, with meaningful consent obtained where required, and with safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. We structure our data practices around the ten PIPEDA fair information principles: accountability, identifying purposes, consent, limiting collection, limiting use/disclosure/retention, accuracy, safeguards, openness, individual access, and the ability to challenge compliance. Section 12 of this policy explains how to exercise your rights or raise a concern.
6. How we share information
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We disclose personal information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: to trusted providers who support our operations — for example, email delivery, hosting, calendar scheduling and accounting software — under agreements that require them to protect the information and use it only for the purpose we specify.
- Legal requirements: where disclosure is required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of BrandBoost Co, our clients, or the public.
- Business transitions: in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to equivalent privacy protections.
- With your direction: where you have asked us to share information with a named third party, such as a design or development partner working alongside us on your engagement.
7. International and cross-border considerations
Some service providers we rely on for hosting, email or analytics may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. Where this occurs, that information becomes subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is held, which may differ from Canadian law. We select providers with reasonable contractual and technical safeguards and limit cross-border transfers to what is necessary to operate the Site and deliver our services.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. As a general guide:
- Contact form enquiries that do not become client engagements are retained for up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised.
- Client engagement records, including contracts and invoices, are retained for at least six years to meet Canadian tax and accounting record-keeping obligations.
- Cookie consent preferences are stored in your browser for approximately six months, after which the banner will appear again. See our cookie policy for detail.
9. Security safeguards
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold, including access controls limiting internal access to personal information, encrypted transmission for form submissions where supported by your browser and our hosting provider, and regular review of the third-party services we rely on. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
10. Your rights and choices
Subject to certain legal exceptions, you have the right to:
- request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information;
- withdraw consent to our collection or use of your information, where consent was the basis for that use;
- request that we stop using your information for direct marketing purposes; and
- ask questions about our privacy practices or file a complaint, as described in Section 12.
We will respond to access, correction or withdrawal requests within a reasonable time, generally within 30 days, and will explain any circumstances where we are unable to fully comply.
11. Children's privacy
Our Site and services are directed at businesses and are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer so we can remove it.
12. Contacting our Privacy Officer
